Lichfield District Social Progress Index

Impera Analytics, the UK arm of the Social Progress Imperative, has developed a local Social Progress Index in partnership with Lichfield District Council. It measures social outcomes across the 22 wards of the district, enabling a holistic and detailed understanding of the wellbeing of residents.

From Data to Impact: Solution

The primary goal was to establish a baseline measurement to help the council better understand their residents' challenges and opportunities. This work also created a stronger alliance between Lichfield District Council and Staffordshire County Council to promote a data-sharing culture and empower their initiatives.

The Lichfield District Social Progress Index measures 50 social and environmental outcomes, helping local leaders identify areas of need and allocate resources more effectively. Impera Analytics also trained the councilors and key internal members. The index will be updated annually to track progress and share the latest available data.

Across the region we know that socio-economic factors are a determining factor of health, and whilst healthcare is serviced by our wonderful NHS, bringing together information sources across the country enables not only policymakers, but also the community itself to find solutions to health inequality and improvement wellness.
